Marc S. Porter is a partner in the firm of Figliulo & Silverman, P.C. where he practices in the areas of real estate, construction law and corporate counseling. He places particular emphasis in the drafting and negotiation of real estate and construction contracts and counseling clients on issues pertaining to land use, zoning and development. Marc is able to integrate his broad experience of having represented public, private and not-for-profit corporations in complex commercial and industrial land acquisitions and sales with his extensive experience representing clients in arbitration and litigation involving construction disputes, public bidding, easements and environmental issues.
Marc was recognized in 2005 by the Midwest Real Estate News as one of the Top Lawyers. Marc has also been recently recognized in a survey of his peers as one of the leading commercial real estate attorneys in Illinois.
With over 26 years of practice, Marc’s real estate experience is complemented by his extensive municipal law experience having represented the Villages of Morton Grove and Franklin Park and the Morton Grove and Niles Park Districts. Marc has represented numerous private construction and development companies including Walsh Construction Company of Illinois, William A. Randolph, Inc and the Penta Development Group.
In addition, Marc represents Kehe Food Distributors, Inc., a nationwide specialty food distributor, in general corporate and employment matters. He also represents many charitable and educational not-for-profit corporations and foundations, including the Alliance for Character in Education, Operation Brotherhood International and Woodlawn Foundation, and serves in an advisory capacity to the Midtown Educational Foundation and the Mens Leadership Forum of Chicago.
Marc attended Holy Cross High School in River Grove, Illinois. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business administration with a major in Finance from Creighton University and his Juris Doctor degree from Northern Illinois University Law School.
Marc is married with nine children and lives in Grayslake, Illinois.
