Ben Capraro is an associate with Figliulo & Silverman. He concentrates his practice in civil litigation, with an emphasis on commercial litigation.

Prior to joining Figliulo & Silverman, Ben first served as a law clerk to the Honorable Paul P. Biebel, Presiding Judge of the Criminal Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County and then went on to practice commercial litigation at a Chicago law firm. Recently, Ben was part of a team who successfully persuaded the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit to expand protections for employers who are the victims of wilful data destruction by employees under the federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. See International Airport Centers, L.L.C. v. Citrin, 440 F.3d 418 (7th Cir. 2006).

During law school, Ben served as an extern for both the Honorable William J. Bauer of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Honorable Wayne R. Andersen of the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois.

Ben graduated from the DePaul University College of Law in 2001, where he was a co-captain of the mock trial team and received the Spirit of DePaul Award. He received a B.A. in History from DePaul University in 1997.

Ben is a member of the Illinois State and Chicago Bar Associations.
