Jeff Harris has devoted his more than 30 years of practice to a broad range of business litigation and counseling, with a special emphasis on matters relating to construction, commercial real estate, corporate and partnership disputes, and claims for breach of fiduciary duty and other business torts. His peers have selected Jeff as an Illinois Super Lawyer in the area of business litigation and as one of the leading Illinois attorneys in construction law.

Jeff’s extensive litigation experience is complemented by having served as de facto general counsel for several clients and having a substantial role, on behalf of the owner or the contractor, in the redevelopment of important projects in Chicago including Navy Pier, Prudential Plaza and Marina City. As a result, Jeff brings a combination of legal and business acumen to helping his clients solve problems.

Jeff received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Following his graduation from Washington & Lee University School of Law in 1978, Jeff practiced with the Chicago law firm of Foran, Wiss & Schultz (later known as Foran & Schultz) for 22 years before joining Figliulo & Silverman in 2001.

In addition to his professional activities, Jeff is President of the Mary D. Harris Memorial Foundation, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network, a member of the Board of Directors of the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis and Vice-President of LAH Oil, Inc. In 2005, he received the Frank Cabral Humanitarian Award from the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis in recognition of his contributions to further education, patient support and research efforts regarding that disease.
